Marion Crombie, director, was born in England, and received her training on the viola at the Robert Schumann Konservatorium in Dusseldorf, and at the Royal College of Music in London. She has been teaching since 1972, combining this with playing in various orchestras and chamber ensembles and raising three children. She moved to California in 1993 and continues to combine freelance playing with teaching. One of her passions is to introduce students to the joy of playing in groups, and this has led to the formation of the Redwood Youth String Camp and Redwood Youth Orchestra which serve the youth of Mendocino County.
